Heavy traffic is reported to have been experienced at the Kadawatha, Pinnaduwa and Godagama interchange of the Southern Expressway earlier today (Dec 22).
The traffic congestion was experienced at the exit routes of the above mentioned interchange points due to an unusual amount of vehicular movement along these roads, Administrator of the Southern Expressway, S. Opanayake said.
It is reported that the traffic congestion was caused as a result of higher number of people using the expressway in lieu of the fast approaching Christmas and New Year season.
Meanwhile, the Road Development Authority has requested all drivers to use the correct road track while exiting the expressway.
