President's Chief of Staff Hemasiri Fernando has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Investments (BOI) of Sri Lanka.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade, President Maithripala Sirisena has made this appointment. Mr. Fernando has been appointed to this post in addition to the position of President's Chief of Staff. (Bandula)

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
