The Colombo High Court today (Dec 5) granted bail to former General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) Tissa Attanayake.
This was in regard to a case against him for allegedly preparing fraudulent documents.Mr Attanayake was released on a personal bail of Rs.25,000 and four personal bails of Rs.500,000 each. The former UNP General Secretary is accused of forging the signatures of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena in a letter.

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today that the suspect in the rape of a lady doctor at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital has been identified as an army deserter and he will be apprehended shortly.
