The security officer of Eastern Governor A L A M Hizbullah who was arrested over the possession of rubber stamps of certain high-ranking police officers has been released on bail today (Apr 02).
Mohamed Mansur Mohamed Rizli was released by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrema on two surety bails of Rs 1 million each.
He was arrested after Police had discovered rubber stamps during a search operation at his residence in Modara recently.
During today's hearing, police informed court that the rubber stamps of Police Suuperintendent Priyantha Weerasuriya, Police Inspector Mahinda Silva and Governor Hizbullah were discovered at the suspect's house. Police also informed court that the suspect was a member of the ministerial security division.
While releasing the suspect on bail, the Additional Magistrate ordered the Police to submit a report on its investigations into the suspect on May 27.
