British Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Hugo Swire is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka this month, government media reported.
The British MP is scheduled to meet a number of high profile politicians and visit Jaffna to take part in Thai Pongal celebrations with President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, reports claimed.
Minister Swire visited Sri Lanka in January last year as well. He met with President Sirisena and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe to discuss the new government’s reform programme and areas of potential co-operation, during his last visit. Swire also held talks with several other key ministers and Northern Province Chief Minister C. V. Wigneswaran.
