Visiting of general public to the Battaramulla head office of the Immigration and Emigration Department will be temporarily suspended from today (2) until further notice, the Controller of the department announced.
However, regional offices in Kandy, Vavuniya, Matara and Kurunegala will be kept open for issuing of passports in case of emergencies. Before visiting regional offices, an appointment should be made by calling 0707101060 or 0707101070 numbers.
“Public in curfew-imposed areas are requested to avoid visiting regional offices,” the department said.
