In Pictures: Abandoned paddy fields being prepared for farming

Heeding the Government's call for people to do what they can to grow their own food, people in various parts of the country are currently preparing to farm paddy fields that had lain abandoned.

These images show farmers at work in a paddy field that had been abandoned for 10 years in Neungama, Kesbewa. Another paddy field in Jaliyagoda, Piliyandala that had also been abandoned before was being prepared for farming.
