Members of the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) and several other civil society organizations held a protest at Lipton Circus in Colombo today (16) condemning the actions of the police when breaking up a protest by FSP activists on June 9. Police arrested dozens of FSP activists in that incident, with allegations being made that police acted brutally to suppress the protest.
Demonstrators held the protest maintaining the one metre social distancing guidelines recommended by health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
