While COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of all large scale events related to Vesak, families have already begun preparations to mark the most important day on the Buddhist calendar at home.
Following are pictures of how households in Saliyawewa are preparing to mark Vesak. Children and young people are all chipping in to make Vesak decorations. However, there were complaints that finding coloured paper needed to make the decorations has become extremely hard.
