All the markets in Jaffna are currently shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Steps being taken to disinfect public areas.
With markets shut down, farmers are selling their products outside the market. The following are images from "Maruthanarmadam market," one of the main markets in Jaffna. These traders are selling vegetables at the market entrance.
Meanwhile, security forces have set up roadblocks at important junctions in Jaffna to regularize civilian movement.
