Leaders of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) including Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa signed nomination papers today (11) for the upcoming parliamentary election.
Premier Rajapaksa will contest the parliamentary election from the Kurunegala district from where he was elected to parliament during the 2015 parliamentary election.
Meanwhile, many other district leaders of the SLPP also signed their nomination papers at today's ceremony to contest the upcoming parliamentary election.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former President and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Chairman Maithripala Sirisena were among those in attendence.
