A flag identical to that of the IS terrorist group was discovered at a residence during a raid in Sammanthurai, Ampara this evening. This was in addition to the discovery of certain garbs which were similar to that used by IS militants.
Following last Sunday's explosions, a video circulating on social media showed Sri Lankan IS members taking a pledge prior to carrying out the deadly terrorist attacks in the country.
The IS members in the video had worn garbs and had taken their pldege against the backdrop of an IS flag which was identical to what was discovered at the residence in Ampara today. In addition, 150 gelatnite sticks, 100,000 metal ball bearings, a suspicious van, a drone camer, and a laptop were also discovered in the house.
