Twenty one new judges were sworn in to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (1).
Six of the judges were appointed to the Supreme Court and 15 others to the Court of Appeal.
The newly appointed Supreme Court judges are justices A H M Dilip Nawaz, Kumudini Wickremesinghe, Shiran Gooneratne, Janak de Silva, Achala Wengappuli and Mahinda Abeysinghe Samayawardhena:
Justice Arjuna Obesekera gave oath as the new President of the Court of Appeal.
The other newly appointed Appeal Court Judges are justices Menaka Wijesundara, D N Samarakoon, Prasantha De Silva, M.T.M Lafar, Pradeep Keerthisinha, Sampath Abekoon, M.S.K.B. Wijerathna, S.U.B. Karaliyadda, R. Gurusingha, G.A.D Ganepola, K.K.A.V Swarnadipathi, Mayadunna Coraya, Prabaharana Kumararathnam and W.N.N.P Iddawala.
