India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu is to be appointed as the country's new Ambassador to the US, Indian media reveal.
He has been serving as India's High Commissioner in Colombo since January, 2017.
Mr Sandhu has served as a diplomat in the US before, having previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at India's Embassy in Washington from July 2013 to January 2017 before being posted to Colombo.
Gopal Bagley is likely to replace Mr Sandhu as the new Indian High Commissioner to Colombo, according to Indian media.
