The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Jalashwa is to leave Colombo port today taking 700 Indian nationals back to their motherland. The Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to this operation which took off the ground on diplomatic level.
According to the Navy, the vessel arrived at the port of Colombo today to take aboard 700 Indian nationals who had to remain in Sri Lanka, as all countries in the world have decided to cancel flights following the travel restrictions imposed due to COVID 19 outbreak.
Due to the prevailing situation in the country, no naval person on the ship was brought aboard. Further, all the Indians who were about to get aboard were fully disinfected before their departure by the Navy.
