The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detectives probing alleged links between a group of Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers and drug traffickers is seeking to arrest an Inspector (IP) attached to the PNB as part of their investigation, sources disclosed.
Four PNB officers; a Sub Inspector, two Sergeants and a Constable are already in CID custody in connection with the investigation. Police have also found a large amount of cash from their possession allegedly linked to drug dealings.
Police sources said the IP is to be interdicted. He is currently evading arrest and a travel ban has also been obtained to prevent him from feeling the country.
