Israel is interested in further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Sri Lanka and is ready to provide advanced technical assistance for various economic fields. Israel's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Ron Malka, who is resident in New Delhi, conveyed this to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa when he called on the president yesterday.
The ambassador told the President that his visit to the island was to explore new areas where bilateral cooperation can be established, the President's Media Division (PMD) stated.
Ambassador Malka said his country is willing to lend technical assistance to Sri Lanka in areas such as agriculture, education and vocational training.
President's Secretary Dr P.B. Jayasundara and Noa Hakim, First Secretary at the Israel Embassy were also in attendance at the meeting.
