The issuing of National Identity Card (NIC)'s for G C E Ordinary Level examination candidates is expected to end by September, the Department of Registration of Persons said.
Atleast five percent of the total candidates are believed to have applied for their NIC's so far, Commissioner General of the Department Viyani Gunathilaka added.
Accordingly, he noted that the process of preparing the identity cards for these individuals are currently underway.
Mr. Gunathilaka also requested candidates who require NIC's to submit their application forms without delay in order to avoid any inconveniences prior to the exams.
