Japanese experts hand over report on Meethotamulla

The report compiled by the team of Japanese experts on the reasons for the Meethotamulla tragedy and proposals on how to avoid a similar disaster in future was presented to President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday. 

The report was presented to the President by the Head of the Japanese team, Mitsutake Numahata. The team also briefed the President and other officials present on the main points highlighted in the report. 

Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Patali Champika Ranawaka and Japan's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Kenchi Suganuma were among those in attendence.
