JO postpones Nugegoda rally, no-confidence motion on PM

The Joint Opposition (JO) has decided to postpone its rally scheduled to be held in Nugegoda tomorrow (7) in view of the current situation in the country and the funeral of Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thera. 

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) was due to hold the rally in Nugegoda tomorrow to celebrate its victory and to call on the Government to hold a General Election. 

Meanwhile, the JO has also decided to postpone handing over a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in light of the current developments in the country. 

Earlier, it was announced that the Government has decided to declare a State of Emergency for a period of 10 days to ensure law and order, following violent incidents reported from Teldeniya and Digana.
