The Joint Opposition (JO) staged a protest today near Parliament opposing today's debate on the Interim Report (IR) of the Steering Committee (SC) appointed to formulate proposals for a new Constitution.
Parliament road from Polduwa junction was also closed due to the protest. Protesters were holding pla cards saying that new Constitution is not needed in the country and it was being carried out under foreign agenda. The debate is scheduled to continue three consecutive days till November 1.
