JVP Leader and Chief Opposition Whip Anura Dissanayaka got a job offer from Agriculture Minister Duminda Dissanayake yesterday. The Minister requested the JVP MP to take over the post of advisor to the Ministry. The request was made during the committee stage debate on the votes of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Minister Dissanayake said that the country could benefit from the expertise of the JVP member, who held the portfolio of Agriculture Minister briefly in 2004 when the JVP was in a provisional government arrangement with the then President Chandrika Kumaratunga..
There was no immediate response from the JVP MP.
