The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will meet Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa today (March 6) to discuss the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution which leads to the abolition of the Executive Presidency.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will meet Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa today (6) to discuss the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution which leads to the abolition of the Executive Presidency.
The meeting between Mr Rajapaksa and JVP representatives has been scheduled for 4.00pm.
The Opposition Leader's office clarified that the meeting is taking place at the request of the JVP and that as Leader of the Opposition, Mr Rajapaksa had a responsibility to meet with any group from the opposition if they request a meeting to discuss important matters.
