Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Sanjeewa was released on bail yesterday (Sept 17) after being remanded for neglecting an order to appear before court over a robbery incident.
Sanjeewa, who has been accused of robbing a person at gunpoint had surrendered before court last month after an arrest warrant had been issued against him.
He was remanded until yesterday, before being granted bail by the Kurunegala Magistrate's Court.
