Landslide and flood warnings have been lifted from certain districts, but thundershowers could occur during the evenings, weather authorities said.
Heavy rains since last Sunday affected around 139,000 people mostly from the south-western region of the island, the Disaster Management Centre said.
Landslide warnings issued to the Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Matara districts have been completely lifted while reduced warnings have been issued to Kalutara and Galle.
The Irrigation Department also says that the water levels of the Kalutara, Gin, and Nilawala rivers have been reducing, and has lessened the threat of floods in the Millakanda, Baddegama, and Panadugama areas respectively.
