Lanka Sathosa has announced that the prices of 200 essential food items will be reduced in line with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Sathosa Deputy General Manager (Operations) Roshan S Hassan said.
Accordingly, the reduced prices of food items which will be in effect from yesterday (Apr 04) are as follows:
The prices of these food items have been reduced following a grant by the treasury, Mr. Hassan noted.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
