The United National Party (UNP) has written to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya nominating UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to the post of Opposition Leader.
The letter had been sent by UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Speaker's Office said.
