President Maithripala Sirisena and former president Mahinda Rajapaksa scheduled to meet today will only discuss matters related to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) matters and not governmental issues,Presidential Secretariat said. The President media unit said it is a normal procedure to arrange a meeting with the president when such requests arise. The request for the meeting came from senior SLFP politicans T.B.Ekanayake, and Kumar Welgama then followed by the Ven Muruthettuwe Ananda Thero and Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero, the statement said. The meeting is scheduled to be happened at the Parliamentry complex on 1.30 pm. President Sirisena assured that since this discussion will be based on the SLFP matters there would not be anything regarding the government activities, for which the voters voted him in the last presidential elections. Meanwhile United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) said in a statement that this meeting is focused on to strengthen the UPFA in order to face the next parliamentary elections in near future.
