Major General Sumith Manawadu passed away this morning at the Colombo National Hospital, local media reported.
Major General Manawadu sustained injuries when a wooden beam fell on his head while inspecting work at his private property situated at the Old Kesbewa Road.
He was rushed to the Army Hospital and later transferred to the National Hospital
He served as the Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia.
