A suspect has been arrested with nearly 2.6 kilograms of heroin and a foreign repeater gun in Katubedda this morning, police said.
The arrest was carried out during a search operation carried out by the Police Organised Crimes Preventive Division.
The suspect has been identified as 41-year of Lakshitha Prasanna, a resident of Rawatawatta, Moratuwa.
Investigations have revealed that the suspect is the son of late underworld leader 'Soththi Upali'.
He will be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrates Court tomorrow.
