Man dies after failed escape attempt following supermarket theft
A 45-year old man has died after injuring himself while attempting to escape being caught after committing a theft at a leading supermarket in Ragama last evening.
According to the Police the suspect who was a resident of Ragama had attempted to flee the supermarket after he was spotted by an employee while stealing goods.
While fleeing the area the suspect had sustained serious injuries and had died on admission to the Ragama Hospital.
Ragama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
