A man was killed and two woman suffered burn injuries after they came under an acid attack at a house in Kamburapola, Kuliyapitiya yesterday (6).
Police said the deceased, identified as a 24-year-old resident of Malkaduwawa, Kurunegala, died on admission to the Kuliyapitiya hospital. The suspect who had thrown the acid has been taken into custody by the Kuliyapitiya police. He is due to be produced before the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate.
Initial investigations have revealed that an alleged illicit affair had been the motive for the attack. Investigations are continuing.
