A notice has been issued by the Ministry of Education to the heads of schools and other educational institutions to quarantine students, academic and non-academic staff returning from Coronavirus-hit countries, for a period of two weeks.
The notice was issued following a request made by the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine to the Ministry of Education upon the arrival of Sri Lankans from countries like China, Korea, and Italy which has seen severe outbreaks of Covid-19, the disease resulting from the Coronavirus.
