The Methodist Church President/ Bishop Asiri Perera issuing a statement said that the police has yet to take necessary action against the attacks on the Methodist Church Center in Anuradhapura during the last few weeks.
Due to this reason, a silent stand was held yesterday opposite the Methodist Church in Kollupitiya from 2 - 3 pm yesterday (Apr 19).
Bishop Asiri emphasised that yesterday's silent stand was not a protest but instead a "silent prayerful stand" on behalf of the Christians whose right to worship has been violated.
