Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando yesterday apologized in Parliament for the use of certain un-parliamentary words during a heated exchange of words with members of the joint opposition group on May 18.
The Minister said that he regretted the incident said he would not act in a manner that would bring parliament into disrespect.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya commended Minister Harin Fernando for his apology made in Parliament and said that elected representatives should act in an examplenary manner.
The Speaker said that Minister's act of apologizing as a politician augurs well for his political career.
