Monsoon thundershowers expected in the coming days
Evening thundershowers are expected in the next few days with the onset of the second inter-monsoon, the Meteorology Department said.
Public is requested to take precautions to avoid damage from lightning and strong winds that will accompany heavy rainfall. Uva, Eastern, North Central and Central provinces will experience thundershowers after 2 pm.
Kalmunai in Batticaloa district received the highest rainfall of 126.5 mm in the last 24 hours.
