A total of 222 individuals have been arrested over drunk driving offences during a special operation from midnight until 5 am today (Mar 09).
The search operation was carried out by police officers upon the directives of IGP Pujith Jayasundara.
Police Spokesman S.P. Ruwan Gunasekara said that the operation was carried out in the Western Province.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
