Motorcycles for journalists

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has granted approval for motorcycles to be issued to journalists for a reduced price.

The decision has been made after a discussion held with the media minister Gayantha Karunathilake. A briefing regarding this was held today by the media minister In order to obtain these motorcycles journalists should satisfy the requirements of being a Sri Lankan citizen, five year service in the field, having registered in the Government Information Department and possessing a valid driving licence. Both male and female journalists have been offered this opportunity of receiving motorcycles of two models.
