Two security officers attached to the security detail of parliamentarian S B Dissanayake were released on bail today. They were remanded for opening fire at two youths during the election campaign.
Hatton Magistrate J Trosky ordered the suspects to be released on a surety bail of Rs 1 million each.
The two Ministerial Security Division officers had opened fire and injured two youths for allegedly obstructing the parliamentarian's vehicle in Polpitiya earlier this month.
The case has been fixed for further hearing on December 10.
