Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa who was elected to parliament from Kurunegala district sworn in as the memebr of the parliament today.
Earlier there were doubts that though Mr. Rajapaksa was elected at the recent parliamentary elections whether he would sit as a ordinary Parliamentarian.
Attending the first session of the new parliament today he was seated in the front row of the opposition next to Nimal Sripala De Silva.
Meanwhile Rajapaksa's son Namal uploaded a picture of the two of them in Parliament with the following caption " Never felt more proud than this moment...to be in Parliament with a statesman who has done so much for #SriLanka."
