The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) issuing a statement has condemned the Easter Sunday attacks which took place at three churches and hotels today in the island.
The Council called the attacks a "deliberate attempt to create panic and disrupt civil life." Further it added that the fundamental teachings of all faiths being peace and justice, that it strongly condemned violence and extremism in all its forms.
In addition, the Council called on the President and the Government to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and to seek justice regarding the "perpetrators of this heinous crime."
