The Muslim World League has decided to donate USD 5 million for the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks, its General Secretary Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdul Careem said.
He made these remarks while addressing a national conference on peace, harmony, and co-existence at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo yesterday (Jul 30).
The Chief Prelates, members of the Maha Sangha, former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Chandrika Kumaratunga, foreign delegates, and other government and opposition parliamentarians attended the event.
The General Secretary, who arrived in the country yesterday, also called on the Chief Prelates of the Asgiri and Malwathu chapters in Kandy last afternoon.
