The Ministry of Health has declared a National Mosquito Eradication Week from today (Sept. 26) till October 02.
The eradication programme is being implemented with the motive of curbing the possible spread of dengue mosquitoes due to the monsoon showers.
Accordingly, clean up programmes will be launched in 175 Divisional Secretariats.
It is noted that the personnel from the tri-forces will join the clean-up efforts.
Meanwhile, The Dengue Prevention Unit requested the public to spend at least 30 minutes a week by cleaning surroundings and the environment to prevent the possible spread of dengue.
