In response to a distress call from a Vietnamese Container Ship “ Thai Binh Bay” Navy promptly rendered assistance to transfer a wounded mariner onboard ship, ashore for treatment yesterday.
Alerted by information of this injured mariner, the naval personnel reached the vessel in the seas 8.5 nautical miles off Colombo Lighthouse and safely transferred the patient to the Colombo harbour. Thereafter, the patient was rushed to the Navaloka Hospital for medical treatment.
