Naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command rescued four Indian fishermen in distress and their fishing boat which was down with an engine failure and drifting in the Western seas of Sri Lanka yesterday, Navy said.
Having towed the boat along with the fishermen to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour, they were provided with food and necessary fist-aid by the Navy. Moreover steps were immediately taken to repair the malfunctioned engine and the fishermen are scheduled to be taken and released at the International Maritime Boundary Line today.
