Co Cabinet Spokesman Dr Rijitha Senaratne reiterated today that the new cabinet will be appointed before Sinhala and Tamil new year.
He explained that the government is awaiting a response from the Sri Lanka Freedom party(SLFP) whether they are breaking away or remaining with government.
Mr Senaratne also said that the new appointments will be made according to a scientific method which will divide portfolio of the ministers according to their subjective ministry.
He said that the new ministers will be appointed for the six ministries of the ministers who voted in favour of the no confidence motion.
The Sunday times online learns that the new cabinet will likely be appointed tomorrow.
