The Examinations Department says it will set-up nine special examination centres for this year's G C E Ordinary Level (O/L) examination in addition to the general exam centres.
Among them are the Tangalle and Matara Remand Prisons, Welikada Prison, Chilaw lockup, Suneetha Vidyalaya in Watareka for prisoners, Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Nepal.
Seven Sri Lankan athletes who will be competing at the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal will attempt the exam at the Sri Lankan embassy, the Education Ministry said.
This year's O/L exam will take place from December 2 to 12 across 4987 candidates countrywide, and will see more than 700,000 candidates attempting the exam.
