A no-confidence motion signed by atleast 44 members of Parliamentarians against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today.
A no confidence motion against finance Minister Ravi Karunanayaka was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya by a group of UPFA MP belonging to the Mahinda Rajapaksa faction in Parliament today.
The motion accuses Mr. Karunanayake of falsifying statistics with regards to economic indicators and information with regard to funds allocations to the Ministry of Education in the budget proposals.
The motion has been signed by 44 MPs including Dinesh Gunawardena, Gamini Lokuge, Bandula Gunawardena, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Shehan Semasinghe, Janaka Wkkumbura, Wijitha Berugoda, Kanchana Wijesekera, Namal Rajapaksa, Keheliya Rambukwella, Manusha Nanayakkara, Johnston Fernando, Jayantha Samaraweera, DV Chanaka, Dilum Amunugama and Ramesh Pathirana.
