United National Party (UNP) leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that the party's presidential candidate would be announced next week.
UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that the decision had been conveyed to him today (Sept 18).
Accordingly, Mr. Kariyawasam noted that a party leaders meeting of the UNP-led United National Front alliance would be held at 6 pm today.
The Election Commission has officially declared that the presidential election would be held on November 16 while nominations would be called on October 7
