Northern Governor Suren Raghavan has requested UNDP Country Director in Sri Lanka Joern Soerensen to assist in bringing back Sri Lankan refugees from India.
The meeting took place at the Governor's Secretariat in Jaffna this morning (Jun 20), the Governor's Office said.
During the meeting, the Govenor had called for the implementation of projects that would uplift the living standards of the people in North since they had been affected by the war.
Mr. Raghavan had also urged the UNDP Director to support the 'Vadmarachchi Lagoon Project' in a bid to resolve water-related issues faced by Northern residents.
